A special internally operated surface controlled subsurface safety valve was developed in conjunction with Caledyne for dewatering capillary injection system applications in wells not provided with hydraulic control line.

The valve is based on the Torus valve type design.

It is available for applications into wells completed with 2 3/8”, 2 7/8” and 3 1/2” tubing size where the sole requirement is the presence of a landing nipple for anchoring the system.

The valve is a fail-safe type valve operated by the same pressure of the injected fluid which pressure first open the safety section of the valve and then the injection section; the produced fluid will pass through proper channels of the same valve body.

By decreasing the injected pressure the injection section of the valve will close and by lowering more the injected pressure (and so for any emergency situation might happen at the well head) also the safety section will close.
